CRCBC provides basketball opportunities for boys and girls in grades K-8 and live within, or go to school, in Coon Rapids.  We run Cardinal Peep development camps for those in grades K-3, and provide a competitive level of Traveling Basketball for those in grades 3-8.

Coon Rapids Cardinals Basketball Club (CRCBC) is a member of Trusted Coaches. This online training and educational program provides our youth coaches with concussion instruction, a nationwide criminal background check, and certification in the Positive Coaching Alliance Double-Goal Coach® course. Coaches are issued a Trusted Coach Membership Card and placed on the Trusted Coaches National Registry upon completion.

Important Information!

• Parents need to come into the building to check in players. Tryouts are closed to spectators, and parents will need to leave or wait in the cafeteria during tryouts.  NO EXCEPTIONS!
• Parent Meeting: all parents will be expected to stay, after checking their child in, for a short parent meeting.
• Arrive at least 20 minutes before your posted tryout time to check in, get a tryout pinnie, and get ready for tryouts. 
• Players must be registered ahead of time. You will not be able to register your player on site.
• Players are expected to attend tryouts.  If missing the tryout date is unavoidable, such as an injury, the president must be contacted to discuss appropriate placement prior to tryouts. For more information on Tryout Procedures, click on the Tryout Procedures document at the bottom of this page.
• Each player will receive a tryout pinnie and an assigned number to use during tryouts only. Players turn it in when tryouts are complete.
• Team Results will be posted on the website no later than 10:00 am on: Saturday, October 7th.
•  Registration fees cannot be refunded once tryout results are posted with the exception of players who do not make a team. Players that are not placed on a team will be refunded minus the processing fees.

Get ready for tryouts by attending our free basketball mini-camp. High School and CRCBC coaches will lead players through drills and game play that will get players ready for tryouts. 

Note: you do not need to attend this clinic to do tryouts.  You also don't need to do tryouts just because you attend the clinic!

IN HOUSE COORDINATOR:  Oversees our 3rd through 8th grade in-house program.  This person works closely with MYAS and the rest of the board to ensure this program runs smoothly. 

Board Member Time Commitment:
Board members attend monthly meetings that generally run for 1 hour.  We ask for all board members to assist with major events such as tryouts, youth nights, the Coon Rapids boys and girls tournaments, and banquets.
