CRCBC Traveling Program

Traveling Program General Information

Welcome to Coon Rapids Travel Basketball

CR Travel Basketball is a program designed for players in grades 3-8 in the Coon Rapids Community that wish to experience an increased level of competitive basketball!

Players go through a tryout process and are placed on teams that correspond with their skill level.  Our program is about both skill development on the court as well as personal development.  We strive to develop players with strong commitment to hard work, positive attitudes and sportsmanship! We are training tomorrow’s leaders.

"Cardinal Teamwork"

CRCBC is proud of our great relationship with the HS program!  For multiple years, members of the JV and Varsity squads are spending time with our travel teams to mentor and inspire.  We look forward to watching our boys develop and work towards their goals of being the next in line to carry on the proud tradition of Coon Rapids Cardinal Basketball!  Protect the Nest!

What is the difference between House League (CR House BB), Traveling Basketball, and AAU?

House League emphasizes fun and equal participation for all players.

  • Teams are composed of 8-10 players engaging in practices, skills events, games and the season-end tournament.
  • Usually it includes one practice and one game per week starting in late fall, early winter.

Traveling Basketball builds up players fundamentals with 2 practices a week plus 3+ games in 10 tournaments (younger teams may have less tournaments).

  • Try outs are in early October, practices start in October, and tournaments are November - February/early March.

AAU is for players looking to continue to elevate their game with 2 practices a week and 6-10 tournaments ~April through June.  Players tryout for AAU teams of their choice regardless of where you live.  Tryouts typically are held in the Spring.
